Through the Community Action and Advocacy Plan (CAAPs), Mwanza Youth and Children Network (MYCN) actively engaged community members across Buhumbi, Lutale, Ngh'aya, Kongolo, Kabila, Kahangara, Itumbili, and Lubugu wards in Magu District to gather their insights on the development of Ward Climate Action Plans.
This inclusive and participatory approach created a platform for citizens to openly share their experiences, priorities, and the key climate-related challenges affecting their daily lives. Community members highlighted pressing issues such as changing weather patterns, impacts on agriculture, water availability, and the need for sustainable local solutions.
By directly involving communities in the planning process, MYCN ensures that the Ward Climate Action Plans are not only locally relevant but also responsive to the real needs and lived realities of the people they are meant to serve. This approach strengthens community ownership, builds trust, and increases the likelihood of successful implementation of climate interventions at the grassroots level.
Ultimately, the CAAPs process empowers communities to become active contributors in shaping resilient and sustainable futures for their wards.
